Lee County Citizens Invited To National Night Out Celebration!


Sheriff Tracy Carter cordially invites each Lee county citizen out on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 from 5 pm to 9 pm to join in the celebration shared by thousands of communities nationwide for the 24th annual National Night Out crime and drug prevention event. This event is to promote a community partnership between the community and their local law enforcement agency.

There will be refreshments and prizes provided at each location. Lee County Sheriff’s Office will partnership with the following communities:

1- Center Church
2- Tempting Church
3- Broadway
4- Beaver Creek Church
5- Brookhaven
6- Zion Church
7- Carbonton Community
Please come out and meet your fellow neighbors and the Sheriff's staff.

I want to personally offer my compliments to the Sanford Police Department for their cocaine drug bust that occured this week. It agains proves that with hard work and dedication to the cause, law enforcement in Lee County is as strong as it ever was. Good Work!

Sanford Motel Under New Management!

The Sanford Motel on Jefferson Davis Highway is now under new management.

Your local Sheriff saw to that due to gun and drug arrests. As reported earlier in this newsletter, the manager and family were arrested for selling crack cocaine to guests as a "room service". Since, the Sheriff followed up with the out of town owners, who have now placed a new manager in charge, Todd Harris. Mr. Harris gave his committment to the Sheriff that he's working towards making the establishment a better and safer place. It now seems they have a common goal...
