Staying safe this holiday season

Seasons greetings from the Lee County Sheriff's Office!

During this busy season, we have one more item for your holiday to-do list: join Nextdoor, your neighborhood's private social network.
We partner with Nextdoor to keep communities informed about issues of crime and safety, and unfortunately this time of year package theft is at its highest.
As a member, you will receive notifications from the police department and your fellow neighbors. So, whether you are out of town or home for the holidays, we will keep you up-to-date about what's happening in your neighborhood.
Please consider joining Nextdoor to keep your neighborhood safe this holiday season.

Merry Christmas and be safe!

Deep River Elem Graduates 115 Students from G.R.E.A.T. Program

Officer Spivey held a G.R.E.A.T. graduation ceremony at Deep River Elementary this morning. 115 students received certificates, medals and other goodies for their hard work over the past six weeks.
Thank you to Mrs Lundy and her staff for their dedication to the program as well!

G.R.E.A.T.  (Gang Resistance Education And Training) is six week, evidence-based and effective gang and violence prevention program built around school-based, law enforcement officer-instructed classroom curriculum. The program is intended as an immunization against delinquency, youth violence, and gang membership for children in the years immediately before the prime ages for introduction into gangs and delinquent behavior. It also walks the students through processes like decision making, conflict resolution, anger management, and the consequences of gangs and violence. It also builds their relationship and trust with law enforcement personnel.
