All county citizens should continue to be vigilant, take notice of their surroundings, and report suspicious items or activities to local authorities immediately by calling 9-1-1.
“If they see something and it doesn’t look right, we want them to reach out to someone,” says Sheriff Carter. “We’re not asking them to be the police. Just in the context of doing their job, watching their neighborhood and just simply living each day in Lee county, if they see something or someone that doesn’t look right, rather than justify in their mind that it’s okay, contact us and we'll have someone take a look at it.”
