Sanford PD and Lee County Drug Agents joined forces on Tuesday in an operation that led to the arrests of two illegal immigrants. Arrested were 27 year old Jorge Alberto Aguilar of Lumberton and 20 year old Jose DeJesus Garcia-Lopez of Siler City. Aguilar gave false information to agents however after further investigation, agents learned his real identity.
Located in the Nissan Pathfinder they were operating were 2 kilos of cocaine, an AK-47 assault weapon. Street value of the seized drugs are estimated at $400,000.00.
Both men were charged with trafficking cocaine by possession; trafficking cocaine by transportation, conspiracy to traffic cocaine, maintaining a vehicle to keep drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon. Both suspects are being held in the Lee County jail. ICE will be notified in regards to the suspects possible illegal status.
