"They
don't get a lot of visitors, and some of them don't have families to
visit. And some of them, for whatever reason, may not be there next
year."
It's a treat for the staff of the Lee County Sheriff's Office that involved in the effort to get out and visit those elderly citizens that have made Lee County what it is.
The department starts gathering items in the Fall and some items are even donated by the community.

Carter said "It's about the spirit of giving. And more than anything,
it's about teaching everybody that we've gotten into such a state of
mind, that it's the little things that mean so much to so many. And the
senior citizens sometimes are forgotten in the process. This has been
something that my staff and I have enjoyed doing every year."
