On Wednesday March 23rd 2016 the Lee County
Sheriff’s Office, North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Branch, North Carolina
Secretary of State’s Office conducted an enforcement operation at various
locations in Lee County. This operation was performed to identify possible
regulatory/criminal violations occurring on North Carolina ABC/NCEL locations
and any other problematic locations. During the duration of the operation the
following violations were observed: 21 ABC/NCEL regulatory violations and 16
misdemeanor violations.
Furthermore as a result of the operation a search warrant
was obtained and executed at the Sanford Quik Mart located at 906 North Horner
Boulevard. The store owner Walter M. Palmer age 29 of 2654 Mallard Cove
apartments was arrested, processed and charged with 1 count of possession with
intent to sell and deliver Marijuana, 1 count felony maintaining a dwelling for
the storage and sells of an illegal controlled substance, 1 count of possession
of drug paraphernalia, 1 count possession of counterfeit merchandise, and 1
count of possession of adulterants. Palmer was jailed under a $17,000.00
secured bond.
Agents located and seized an estimated $12,130.00 of counterfeit
merchandise during the operation, and other items of paraphernalia totaling
$1,410.00.
