OFFICE ANNOUNCES NEW PROCEDURE
FOR PISTOL PERMITS
FOR PISTOL PERMITS
LCSO has completed the process and has implemented a new web-based system that will expedite the process of obtaining a permit to purchase a pistol. This new system will provide the citizens
a faster, more secure and paperless process in obtaining pistol permits and
also assist the Sheriff's department in exceeding the required compliance levels set
forth by the State of North Carolina.
Concealed Carry Permits and Renewal Applications will
continue to be available online or in the lobby of the Sheriffs Office for those that desire to manually complete the paperwork.
Payment will be required at the time of submitting the application whether it be online or in person.

Applicants will still be required to appear in person and
sign a release form to process the background check portion of the process.
