On December 4, Sgt. West displayed his dedication to his job
and professionalism by guiding his staff in a quick action when he discovered
an inmate who was attempting suicide. By being persistent with wellness checks,
he found the inmate in a timely manner. By following CPR instructions provided
by Sgt. West, newer Officers Ashley and Rajah were able to aid in saving the
inmate’s life. They followed protocol without hesitation by alerting EMS,
gathering equipment such as CPR masks and an AED and assisted with CPR until
EMS arrived on the scene.
Without hesitation, we thank these professionals for their
heroism, persistence, dedication and sympathy for saving a life! Lee County is lucky to have such dedicated
employees!
