Late Tuesday night & into the early hours on Wednesday morning February 5, 2020, Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics agents conducted surveillance on a location in the southern part of the county where agents had received numerous complaints and information in regards to drug activity.
At approximately 1055pm, agents observed a white Chevrolet pickup truck displaying a fictitious registration plate exit the location and drive away. Agents followed the Chevrolet pickup for a short time and initiated a traffic stop for the fictitious registration plate. Investigation revealed that the operator of the Chevrolet pickup was Crissdee Ward Ashley. A quick K9 sniff search of the exterior of the vehicle gave agents probable cause to search the vehicle. A search yielded approximately 26.84 grams of crystal methamphetamine, and ten dosage units of suboxone located in a small plastic container in the floorboard of the driver side of the vehicle. Crissdee Ward Ashley was placed under arrest at this time and transported to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office for processing.
Ashley was processed and charged with one count of possession with the intent to sell and deliver 26.84 grams of crystal methamphetamine, one count possession with the intent to sell and deliver 10 dosage units of suboxone, one count of felony maintaining a vehicle used to store and sell illegal controlled substance, and one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Ward was jailed under a $25,000.00 secured bond.
Ashley was also cited for the displaying of a fictitious registration plate, which had no effect on her bond.
