Suspicious Activity Leads to Arrest




July 29th, 2020 at approximately 10:54pm, Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics agents arrested Larry Carson Harrell, age 51, of 4129 South Plank Road, Sanford.  While following up on numerous complaints of drug activity taking place in the parking lot of the Sanford Food Mart located at 2304 Jefferson Davis Highway, agents observed suspicious activity taking place on the property after hours. Upon further investigation agents found Larry Harrell was illegally possessing 395 dosage units of prescription medication, along with 43 Suboxone strips.  The pills ranged from Schedule II to Schedule IV.  Agents located 383, Schedule II Hydrocodone/Oxycodone pills, 43, Schedule III Suboxone strips, 12, Schedule IV Alprazolam pills, and two grams of marijuana.  At the time of arrest Harrell was found in possession of a Ruger model LCP 380 caliber handgun.  

Larry Harrell was transported, processed and charged by agents with one count of trafficking opium/heroin by possession, one count of trafficking opium/heroin by transportation, one count of possession with the intent to sell and deliver schedule III, possession with the intent to sell and deliver schedule IV, one count of felony maintaining a vehicle used for the illegal storage and sales of a controlled substance, one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and one count of possession of a firearm by convicted felon. 

Harrell was jailed under a $350,000.00 secured bond.
