Movie Pirate Swashbuckled by the Sheriff's Office
Robert Robles Jr, 32 of Sanford was arrested and charged by the Lee County sheriff’s deputies on Tuesday for selling what investigators believe are hundreds of counterfeit movies, compact discs and video games. Deputies found more than 1,700 DVDs, many of which were illegal copies. Robles had been selling the illegal copies of the discs for $4 apiece. Many of the titles deputies seized were pornographic movies. Whitaker said the investigation began on Thursday after deputies received a tip about the operation. The search warrant was executed after deputies made an undercover buy from Robles. Small amounts of marijuana and hydrocodone were also seized. Robles was placed in the Lee County Jail under $9,000 secured bond.
