The Lee County Sheriff's Office is proud to announce this years Seniors Appreciation Luncheon (60 & up) which will be held at the Dennis Wicker Civic Center in Sanford, on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at 11 AM.
Sheriff Carter has always been clear that the senior community was very important to him. The Sheriff, along with a list of other sponsors want to acknowledge the senior community on this day.
“Our seniors are the backbone of our community and we owe them a debt of gratitude,” said Carter. “This event is to honor them for their service to Lee County. Maintaining relationships and hearing their concerns are important to me. With crimes against seniors on the rise over the past years, as Sheriff, I'll do whatever it takes to protect them and to educate them in able to live a better life here. I am proud to host this luncheon and to bring government services to our community where needs can be directly addressed, face to face” said Carter.
