Sheriff Reports Two Drug Busts

On 8-20-2008, members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at Lot #10 Lora Ann Mobile Home Park on Frank Wicker Road. Agents discovered 2 grams of Crack Cocaine and 5 grams of Marijuana as well as items of drug paraphernalia. As a result, Charles Adolphus Bush, 29, of the home was arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell Cocaine, possession of Marijuana and maintaining a dwelling to store drugs. He was placed in the Lee County Jail under $10,000.00 secured bond. It was also discovered that Bush was a fugitive from the North Carolina Department of Corrections. Jukeda Lakeisha Willis, 23, also of the home was arrested and charged with maintaining a dwelling to store drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also placed in the Lee County Jail under $5000.00 secured bond.


On 8-19-2008, members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division arrested Christopher Steven Burch, 26, of 511 Bragg Street, Sanford, for possession with intent to sell and deliver Marijuana, maintaining a dwelling to store drugs, maintaining a vehicle to store drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia after an under cover operation found him in possession of 976.8 grams of Marijuana. He was placed in the Lee County Jail under $20,500.00 secured bond.

Sanford and Lee County are not unique in their drug trafficking challenges, but many neighborhoods are indeed plagued with this problem... sometimes well camouflaged in otherwise normal communities.
