Suspects Popped during "Operation Pill Popper"

A two month investigation by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and the State Bureau of Investigation dubbed “Operation Pill Popper”, targeting prescription drug fraud and distribution has resulted in the following arrest and charges. Most of the fraud involved defendants engaged in “doctor shopping”. In addition to the below defendants, agents have warrants for additional suspects as part of this on-going investigation.


Jennifer Nicole Hunter, 31, of 30 Bamboo Lane, Sanford, was arrested on 10-20-2008 and charged with trafficking Opium and obtaining a controlled substance by fraud. She was placed in the Lee County Jail under $400,000.00 secured bond.

Patricia Williamson Smith, 52, of 418 Frazier Drive, Sanford, was charged on 10-20-2008 with trafficking Opium and obtaining a controlled substance by fraud. She was placed in the Lee County Jail under $400,000.00 secured bond.

Marty Evan Hall, 38, of 520 Charlotte Ave., Sanford, was charged on 10-14-2008 with trafficking Opium, possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance, and possession of a schedule IV controlled substance. He was placed in the Lee County Jail under $100,000.00 secured bond.

Gene Everette King, 60, of 410 Courtland Drive, Sanford, was arrested on 10-20-2008 and charged with trafficking Opium and obtaining a controlled substance by fraud. He was placed in the Lee County Jail under $400,000.00 secured bond.

Randall Lloyd Gautier, 41, of 197 Ted Brown Road, Cameron, was arrested on 10-21-2008 and charged with trafficking Opium and obtaining a controlled substance by fraud. He was placed in the Lee County Jail under $100,000.00 secured bond.

Melinda Rosenbaum Martinez, 48, of Lot 12 GoHeels Lane, Broadway, was arrested on 10-21-2008 and charged with trafficking Opium, conspiracy to sell/deliver a schedule II controlled substance and maintaining a vehicle to store drugs. She was placed in the Lee County Jail under $100,000.00 secured bond.

Lumas Wayne Estes Jr., 67, of 3338 Hawkins Ave., Sanford, was arrested on 10-22-2008 for possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule IV controlled substance, sell and delivery of a schedule IV controlled substance and maintaining a dwelling to keep and store controlled substances. He was placed in the Lee County Jail under $25,100.00 secured bond.

Amanda Christine Tillman, 35, of 555 Key Road, Sanford, was arrested on 10-23-08 for possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was placed in the Lee County Jail under $26,000.00 secured bond.

Rashaun Har’kel White, 17, of 4728 Hwy 27 West, Lillington, was arrested on 10-22-08 for possession of a schedule III controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Lee County Jail under $6000.00 secured bond.

Kenneth Wayne Boles, 44, of 781 McPherson Road, Sanford, was arrested on 12-2-2008 for Trafficking Opium, Conspiracy to Traffic, and Sell and delivery of a schedule II controlled substance. He was placed in the Lee County Jail under $200,000.00 secured bond.

Brian Kent Boles, 18, of 781 McPherson Road, Sanford was arrested on 12-2-2008 for sell and delivery of a schedule II controlled substance. He was placed in the Lee County Jail under $1500.00 secured bond.
