A surveillance operation and a traffic stop on Gunter Lake Rd.
has led to the seizure of 15 pounds of Marijuana and a small amount of Cocaine and the arrest of two individuals. Oscar Rios Amaro, 19, of 404 Charlotte Ave, Sanford, and Juan Gijon Perez, 29, of 201 Rose street, Sanford, were both charged with Conspiracy to traffic Marijuana. In addition, Perez was charged with possession of Cocaine and possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Perez was placed in the Lee County Jail under $15,000.00 secured bond and Amaro was placed in the Lee County Jail under $10,000.00 secured bond. The drugs have an estimated potential street value of $36,000.00. Agents also seized a 1999 Dodge Pick up truck.

Many thanks to the Lee County Sheriff's department, and Sanford PD, for their continued effort to reduce drug related crime and send the message that Lee County isn't a haven for this activity.
