Harnett County deputies responded to 8 Bee Hive Lane in Broadway around 10:30pm on Weds. night to investigate a possible shooting. When they arrived, they found Michael Clark, 44, husband of Lee County Deputy, Angie Clark, deceased.
Investigators have not given a motive for the shooting. "The investigation has indicated that victim was shot by his wife, Angie Clark, age 40, of the same address," Harnett County authorities wrote in a news release Thursday. "There have been no charges filed in the case and no other information will be released at this time."
Michael Clark's body was sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Chapel Hill for an autopsy.
Sheriff Carter commented that Angie Clark has been a deputy in Lee County for about two and a half years and was on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. The Sheriff added that she has been a "very good employee."
