Drug Bust Nets Varoius Drugs and Stolen Firearm


An undercover investigation by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division has resulted in the seizure of Cocaine, Ecstasy, Marijuana, drug Paraphernalia and a stolen 9mm Handgun, and the arrest of one individual.

Agents searched a residence in the Kendale area of Sanford and a vehicle in the Tramway area of Lee County and seized 576 grams of powder Cocaine, 5 dosage units of Ecstasy, a small amount of Marijuana and numerous items of paraphernalia. Agents arrested Federico Vivas Martinez, 22, of 3044 Morgan Mill Road, Raleigh and charged him with Trafficking Cocaine by possession, Trafficking Cocaine by transportation, maintaining a vehicle for the purpose of keeping or storing drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Martinez, an illegal alien from Mexico, was placed in the Lee County Jail under $500,000.00 secured bond. Additional arrest in the case are likely. Lee County Agents were assisted in the investigation by agents of the Moore County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit. The seized drugs have an estimated potential street value of approximately $115,450.00.
