A joint operation and investigation by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the State Bureau of Investigation, and the Sanford Police Department has resulted in the arrest of ten persons. Lee County Narcotics agents, State Bureau of Investigation agents and agents of the Sanford Police Departments Tactical Narcotics Team began at approximately 8:30 am on 1-11-2010 arresting suspects today in “Operation Bad Medicine”, an investigation targeting prescription pill fraud and cases of “Doctor Shopping”. Agents are seeking 14 persons in the first phase of this operation. Those charged so far and their bond information is listed below. Additional arrest and charges are expected.
*Curtis Ray Parker, 55, of 3898 McDougald Road, Sanford, was charged on 1-11-2010 for obtaining a controlled substance by fraud (Doctor Shopping) and trafficking opium and was placed in the Lee County Jail under $100,000.00 secured bond.
*Patsy Lovenne Spears, 65, of 120 Spivey Lane, Sanford, was arrested on 1-11-2010 with two counts of Trafficking Opium and was placed in the Lee County Jail under $50,000.00 secured bond.
*Dana Renee Thomas, 24, of 326 Sugarneck Lane, Broadway, was charged on 1-11-2010 with obtaining property by false pretense and attempting to obtain property by false pretense. She was released under $25,000.00 bond.
*Linda Jean Sherron, 52, of 1828 White Hill Road, Sanford, was arrested 1-11-2010 for 2 counts of trafficking opium and was placed in the Lee County Jail under $300,000.00 secured bond.
*Stephen Lawrence Bowling, 48, of 991 St. Andrews Church Road was arrested on 1-11-2010 for trafficking opium and obtaining a controlled substance by fraud (Doctor Shopping). He was placed in the Lee County Jail under $600,000.00.
*Tammy Elaine Fox, 44, of 59 Key Road, Sanford, was arrested on 1-11-2010 for obtaining a controlled substance by fraud (Doctor Shopping) and trafficking opium and was placed in the Lee County Jail under $400,000.00 secured bond.
*Jimmy Dwayne Gordon, 44, of 209 Temple avenue, Sanford, was arrested on 1-11-2010 for seven counts of Obtaining a controlled substance by fraud (Doctor Shopping) and was placed in the Lee County under $700,000.00 secured bond.
*Robin Lee Watts, 31, of 1050 Swann Station Road, Sanford, was arrested on 1-11-2010 for possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (Adderall) and was released under $5000.00 bond.
*Rachel Joy Barmash, 39, of 53 Cranes Drive, Sanford, was arrested on 1-11-2010 for obtaining a controlled substance by fraud (Hydrocodone) and was placed in the Lee County Jail under $20,000.00 secured bond.
*Danny Lynn Johnson Jr., 33, 288 Pinewood Lane, Olivia, was arrested on 1-11-2010 for trafficking opium and obtaining a controlled substance by fraud. Bond information on Johnson was not available at the time of this press release.
