Home Invasion Suspect Arrested Same Day


On 5/20/2010 at approximately 5:15 PM, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary at 4738 Sheriff Watson Rd., Sanford. Investigation revealed the residence was forcibly entered and 4 firearms were taken while a 14 year old child was home alone. The quick thinking teenager was able to capture the suspect using the camera on her cellphone, which later helped in apprehending the suspect.

The victim described the suspect as a white male w/ a thin beard operating a blue Ford Crown Victoria. At approximately 11:55 PM Sanford Police Officers stopped a vehicle fitting the description of the suspect vehicle. Sheriff investigators were called and determined Bryan Everett Allen (31) W/M of 509 Third St. Sanford was indeed the suspect and he was charged with breaking and entering, larceny and possession of stolen goods. Allen cooperated in the investigation and the firearms were later recovered. Allen was held in the Lee County Jail under $15,000 secured bond.
