Joint Sting Operation Targets Local Restaurant - Nets numerous arrests
34-year-old restaurant part-owner Gennaro Pascarella of Cafe Vesuvio was arrested at the restaurant following a six month undercover narcotics investigation.
All told, officers were seeking out 34 individuals for arrest on a total of 325 charges.
Pascarella is charged with selling prescription painkillers to an undercover police agent from his Italian restaurant. He is being charged with five counts of possession with intent to sell Oxycodone, five counts of selling and distributing Oxycodone, four counts of selling drugs within 1,000 feet of a school and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The most common drugs seized during the investigation were painkillers like Oxycodone, Methadone and Percocet, as well as anxiety medications like Alprazolam. A handful also faced charges for distribution of Cocaine and Marijuana, officials said.
In addition to Pascarella, the following is a list of all those arrested in the drug sting by 5 p.m. Wednesday:
■ Billie Cameron Tripp, 25, of 513 Bracken St. in Sanford, was charged with three counts of trafficking in opiates and possession of drug paraphernalia.
■ Brad Morgan Hyde, 25, of 79 St. Andrews Church Road in Sanford, was charged with three counts of possession with intent to sell Alprozolam, three counts of selling and distributing Alprazolam, three counts of maintaining a dwelling for the sale of narcotics and two count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
■ Brandon Mitchell Patterson, 29, of 111 Applewood Drive in Sanford, was charged with three counts of possession with intent to sell Oxycodone, three counts of selling and distributing Oxycodone, possession with intent to sell Percocet, selling and distributing Percocet, maintaining a vehicle for drug sales and conspiracy to sell and deliver drugs.
■ Brandy Lee Vaughan Watts, 30, of 1050 Swann Station Road in Sanford, was charged with possession with intent to sell Alprazolam, selling and distributing Alprazolam, two counts of possession with intent to sell Hydromorphone, two counts of selling and distributing Hydromorphone, maintaining a vehicle to sell drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and selling within 1,000 feet of a daycare.
■ Bryan Keith Reece, 27, of 214 W. Makepeace St. in Sanford, was charged with two counts of trafficking in opiates, possession with intent to sell Alprazolam, selling and distributing Alprazolam, possession with intent to sell Oxycodone, selling and distributing Oxycodone, two counts of maintaining a dwelling to sell drugs and three counts of selling drugs within 1,000 feet of a school.
■ John Robert Hilton, 24, of 788 Valley Pine Lane in Sanford, was charged with two counts of trafficking in opiates, possession with intent to sell Alprazolam, selling and distributing Alprazolam, possession with intent to sell Suboxone, selling and distributing Suboxone, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a vehicle to sell drugs.
■ Matthew Justin Sharpe, 26, of 116 Mill Pond Road in Sanford, was charged with possession with intent to sell Methadone, selling and distributing Methadone and possession of drug paraphernalia.
■ Michael Shaun Blystone, 28, of 513 Bracken St. in Sanford, was charged with five counts of trafficking in opiates, two counts of possession with intent to sell Oxycodone, two counts selling and distributing Oxycodone, possession with intent to sell Alprazolam, selling and distributing Alprazolam, possession with intent to sell Hydromorphone and several other charges.
■ Penny Lynn Hamilton, 30, of 214 W. Makepeace St. in Sanford, was charged with four counts of trafficking in opiates, possession with intent to sell Methadone, selling and distributing Methadone, possession with intent to sell Percocet, selling and distributing Percocet, two counts possession with intent to sell Oxycodone, two counts of selling and distributing Oxycodone and several other charges.
■ Ray McMahon Jr., 47, of 120 Trade St. in Sanford, was charged with possession with intent to sell Oxycodone, selling and distributing Oxycodone and maintaining a dwelling to sell drugs.
■ Robert Dewitt Wilson III, age and address unknown at press time, was charged with possession with intent to sell Marijuana, selling and distributing Marijuana, maintaining a dwelling to sell drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy to sell and distribute drugs.
■ Robin Lee Watts, 32, of 1050 Swann Station Road in Sanford, was charged with possession with intent to sell Oxymorphone, selling and distributing Oxymorphone and maintaining a dwelling to sell drugs.
■ Stephen Davis Willett, 23, of 215 Highwood Drive in Sanford, was charged with five counts of trafficking in opiates, four counts of possession with intent to sell cocaine, four counts selling and distributing drugs, six counts of maintaining a dwelling to sell drugs and six counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
■ William Derek Collins, 29, of 1844 Rice Road in Sanford, was charged with three counts of trafficking in opiates, possession with intent to sell Percocet, selling and distributing Percocet, possession with intent to sell Oxycodone, selling and distributing Oxycodone, possession with intent to sell Alprazolam, selling and distributing Alprazolam, maintaining a dwelling to sell drugs and conspiracy to sell and distribute drugs.
