Don't Be A Nuisance!

The Lee County Sheriff's Office arrested an repeat offender Friday during a raid at 1464 Black Road, and the department is taking civil action against the suspect in addition to filing criminal charges.

Jimmy Jackson Sr. (54), was charged with two counts of sale and delivery of cocaine, two counts of conspiracy and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Capt. John Holly noted that the raid was at least the fifth or sixth warrant at the same location in the past two years. This is what prompted the Sheriff's Office to file a civil suit in addition to the criminal charges.

Holly said Jackson was arrested as recently as July on drug charges relating to crack cocaine, and the suspect was on probation for previous drug-related charges.

A second individual received a citation Friday for possession of drug paraphernalia.

“If we can prove your property is a nuisance, the court can do a number of things, including forfeit your property,”Capt. Holly commented. Officials have identified “numerous code violations” at the residence, relating to electrical problems, “junk cars” and other issues.

Drug Agents also assisted the Harnett County Sheriff's Office and searched several locations in their jurisdiction, to include 1197 Claude White in Sanford, 597 Wild Plum in Sanford, and 24045 NC 24/27 in Cameron. Sheriff Tracy Carter said the raid represents the commitment of his office to ending drug-related activity.

Sheriff Carter in closing said, “I want citizens of the county to know we're going to use every resource to fight this ...,” “We're going to keep working and we're not going to let up; when we have places like this is the county, we're going to continue to make arrests.”
