Two Lee County men were arrested in connection with a larceny of more than $7,500 worth of tires from Noble Oil Company located at 5617 Clyde Rhyne Dr. and more than $12,000 worth of tires from Sanford Contractors located at 628 Rocky Fork Ch. Rd. The tires were taken over a two week period in January 2012.
Steven Douglas Stone (38) W/M of 2708 Lemon Springs Rd. Sanford and Joshua Daniel Sistare (27) W/M of 523 Glenwood Dr. Sanford were both charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny and felony possession of stolen goods in connection w/ Noble Oil.
Stone and Sistare were charged w/ felony breaking and entering a trailer, felony larceny and felony possession of stolen goods in connection w/ Sanford Construction.
The majority of the tires were recovered in both cases. Investigation found Sistare and Stone had sold the tires to various tractor trailer owners in the area.
They both were held under $31,500 secured bond.

Way to go, good thing you caught them. They might have become the next rocket scientists.
Innocent until proven guilty. These Facebook postings of accused criminals are of dubious legality and should probably be banned outright. The investigation has not "found" that the accused criminals sold tires illicitly; that is for a Court to decide.
Mr. Betts, posting of arrest information is legal in North Carolina. Every media outlet in the state have paid employees that do nothing but check these records daily and report their findings.
The information we share is ARREST information, not CONVICTIONS. There is a difference.
