On 5/18/2012, Jalisa Belk, of 6947 Sheriff Watson Rd., reported her husband, Edward Octavious Belk, became angry and began assaulting her. The assault continued outside of the residence. While outside, Edward Octavious Belk produced a handgun and fired multiple shots at Jalisa Belk. Mrs. Belk sustained minor injuries during the altercation, but was not struck by any bullets.
Edward Octavious Belk, 26 of 6947 Sheriff Watson Rd. was arrested for Attempted Murder, Assault with Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill, Assault by Pointing a Gun, Assault on Female and Interfere with Emergency Communication. He was placed in Lee County Jail under no bond.
