Fisherman Robbed At San Lee Park



        10/25/2013 @ 10:57 Richard William Degroat of 200 Cox Maddox Rd. Sanford reported while fishing at San Lee Park this morning he was robbed at gun point. Degroat reported he was fishing on the back side of the upper lake at San Lee Park when he was approached by a white male , 5’-7” tall 175 lbs., w/ dark curly hair, wearing wire rimmed glasses, a black cap, black jacket and silver gray shirt. The man displayed a pistol and demanded Degroat’s wallet and cell phone. Degroat reported the man took his cash from his wallet and threw it on the ground and left on foot with his cash and cell phone. Degroat reported the man approached him from the South side of the park and ran back in that direction after the robbery, towards O’Quinn Rd. A search the area was conducted by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office  and was assisted by Harnett County Canine officer and NC SHP Air Patrol. The victim was not injured during this incident.

Reward available to the person(s) with information leading to the arrest.
