Jail Officer Arrested, Second Dismissed

4/21/2015  The Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a jail officer and dismissed another jail officer after an investigation that began on April 3, 2015 when 4 inmates were arrested and charged w/ possessing cell phones in the Lee County Jail. 

Robert Ellis Fleming (35) B/M of 122 Big Man Dr. Sanford was arrested for and charged with providing an inmate w/ a cell phone and tools to conceal contraband, aid and abet an inmate in possessing a cell phone and tools to conceal contraband and receiving a bribe; he was held in Lee County Jail under $50,000 secured bond. This investigation is still on going at this time.
