On 05/12/2016 Lee County Sheriff Narcotics Agents and North Carolina ALE Agents arrested Magrianna Vernae McLain, a local 20 year old for numerous drug violations after agents initiated a traffic stop. While agents approached the vehicle a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle led agents to a large stash of drugs. Agents conducted a search of McLain’s vehicle which revealed 8.3 grams of heroin, 16.2 grams of crack cocaine, 5.5 grams of powder cocaine, and 19.6 grams of marijuana. McLain was transported to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office for processing into the Lee County Jail.
McLain was arrested and charged with Possession with two counts of Trafficking Heroin, Possession with Intent to sell/deliver Heroin, Possession with Intent to sell/deliver Crack Cocaine, Possession with Intent to sell/deliver Marijuana, Maintain a Vehicle to sale narcotics and two counts of drug paraphernalia.
McLain was given a $125,000.00 secured bond and a first appearance court date of 05/13/2016 in Lee County.
