Lock It or Lose It

Lock It or Lose It...

Our deputies have been busy this morning taking reports from citizens finding items missing from their cars overnight.

One of the easiest steps you can take to protect your vehicle is to lock your doors and make sure your windows are closed. Often thieves will simply search parking lots or driveways for unlocked vehicles they can quickly enter and steal from.

Properly store valuables such as GPS devices, phones, tablets, or any other electronic equipment out of sight. Also hide any power cables or mounts that may be clues that a device is hidden in your car since thieves may see these accessories and break into your car in hopes of finding the electronic device in your glove box or center console.

Never leave firearms in your vehicle unless you have a properly installed and secured gun vault made for this purpose.

Lastly, some car insurance companies will not cover such losses if you neglect to properly secure your vehicle.

Don't be an easy victim.  Lock it or lose it.

The LCSO is offering a reward leading to the arrests of these individuals.
