Welcome Home!

Today my staff and I were honored to be guests at a surprise event at the Lee County Wildlife Club for a local solider, Major Samuel Sama, who just returned from deployment.

Samuel joined the Army shortly after the 9-11 terrorist attacks. He was deeply saddened by these events and wanted to make a difference for his country. He is the only member of his family to have served in the United States military.

In 2006, Samuel was deployed to Germany, leaving his wife Adilia and family, including their youngest child, which was two years old at the time. He spent 11 months away from his family. By God's Grace, his duties have kept him close to home until his recent deployment to Iraq which kept him away for 9 months.

Samuel has always had a passion for helping others. He was one of a few in his class who earned his degree in the Army as a Nurse Anesthetist. In the Army, he functions as the only licensed independent anesthesia practitioner for all minor and complex surgeries.

Major Sama is currently stationed at Fort Bragg and has served our country in the US Army for over 10 years. He loves his service in the US Army and plans to make it a career path.

I love America because I can enjoy the freedoms that our older generations fought so hard for! Thanks to our present and future generations of service members who will ensure we keep those same freedoms!

Thanks Major Sama for your service and sacrifice along with the others in our community doing the same.
