Joint Investigation Leads to 2 Arrests; 4 Pounds of Meth

On Tuesday, August 15th 2017, a six month investigation led by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Moore County Sheriff’s Office, Harnett County Sheriff’s Office, Sanford Police Department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation’s came to an end. In the course of the six month Mendoza investigation, German Alvarez Mendoza and Federico Alvarez Mendoza had unknowingly led agents to the seizure of two pounds of crystal methamphetamine. On Tuesday, August 15th 2017 German Alvarez Mendoza was stopped by the Moore County Sheriff’s Office and Aberdeen Police Department in the parking lot of the Aberdeen Town and Country center. In the course of the arrest agents located two pounds of crystal methamphetamine in a 2005 Honda Accord being operated by German Alvarez Mendoza.

age 41 of 283 Cooper Store Road, Cameron NC, was arrested and charged 4 counts of trafficking in methamphetamine, 2 counts of possession with the intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, 2 counts of felony maintaining of a vehicle used for the storage of a controlled substance, and 2 counts of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. German Alvarez Mendoza was jailed under a $250,000.00 secured bond.

Federico Alvarez Mendoza was arrested at his home located at 1701 Cameron Hill Road, Cameron NC, and charged with 3 counts of conspiracy to traffic crystal methamphetamine and jailed under a $200,000.00 secured bond.

The total amount of crystal methamphetamine seized throughout the investigation is 4 pounds which has a total street value of $40,000.00. More charges are pending for both subjects at this time.
