afternoon (Feb 7th), Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics agents arrested Larry Odell
Franklin Jr. age 35, of 181 Atkinson Point Road, Surf City, NC, Emilio Gonzalez
age 25 of 323 North Steel Street, Sanford, and Karen Ruby Tavera age 27 of 610
Charlotte Avenue, Sanford.
In the course of a traffic stop agents discovered that the occupants were in possession of 40 grams of Marijuana, and 4,400 dosage units of Xanax.
Larry Odell Franklin Jr. was charged with 1 count of possession with the intent to sell and deliver a schedule IV controlled substance ( Xanax ), 1 count of possession with the intent to sell and deliver schedule XI controlled substance ( Marijuana ), 1 count of felony maintaining a vehicle used for keeping and selling a illegal controlled substance.
Emilio Gonzalez was charged with 1 count of possession with the intent to sell and deliver a schedule IV controlled substance ( Xanax ), 1 count of possession with the intent to sell and deliver schedule XI controlled substance ( Marijuana ), 1 count of felony maintaining a vehicle used for keeping and selling an illegal controlled substance.
Karen Ruby Tavera was charged with 1 count of possession with the intent to sell and deliver a schedule IV controlled substance ( Xanax ), 1 count of possession with the intent to sell and deliver schedule XI controlled substance ( Marijuana ), 1 count of felony maintaining a vehicle used for keeping and selling an illegal controlled substance. Karen Tavera was also served with an outstanding warrant for arrest for non-compliance child support.
Larry Odell Franklin Jr. was jailed under a $25,000.00 secured bond, Karen Ruby Tavera was jailed under a $15,250.00 secured bond, and Emilio Gonzalez was jailed under a $15,000.00 secured bond. The total estimated street value of the seized narcotics is $22,212.00.
