Operation Leader A Success For Local Area Agenices

On February 20, 2018, Lee Marvin Harris Junior, age 32, of Aberdeen and Charlotte, North Carolina was arrested culminating a yearlong investigation by the Southern Pines Police Department in an undercover operation titled “Operation Leader.”  Lee Marvin Harris Junior has a prior history of drug convictions in Moore County, North Carolina dating back to 2007.  These drug convictions included, but are not limited to, Felony Possession of Cocaine (two separate convictions), Felony Possession of Marijuana, as well as other drug related offenses that occurred in Guilford County and Moore County, North Carolina.

Investigators from the Southern Pines Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division developed information that Lee Marvin Harris Junior, and the other accused individuals listed below, were distributing cocaine and heroin in Southern Pines, NC.  This criminal activity was associated with a continuing gang related criminal enterprise and conspiracy.  Lee Marvin Harris Junior has been identified as a prominent member of an organized street gang, who identify themselves as the “Dope Boys Clique” or “DBC.” As a result of this investigation, search warrants were executed at 803 Sycamore Street, Aberdeen, NC, 1090 W. Indiana Avenue, Southern Pines, NC, 8009 Andover Creek Drive, Unit 1702, Charlotte, NC, 11866 U.S. 15/501, Aberdeen, NC and 5102 Timber Ridge Drive, Sanford, NC. An additional search occurred in Davie County, NC.

The following items of evidence were recovered as a result of this investigation: Over twenty (20) kilograms of Cocaine, two (2) pounds of Crystal Methamphetamine, five (5) ounces of heroin, six (6) Firearms (one listed as stolen), in excess of $85,000.00 U.S. Currency and one (1) 2009 Toyota Venza.

The following departments/agencies or organizations assisted in bringing this yearlong investigation to a successful conclusion: Federal Bureau of Investigation, State Bureau of Investigation, Aberdeen Police Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department, Winston Salem Police Department, Davie County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina National Guard.  

Chief Bob Temme offered the following statement upon the successful conclusion of this yearlong effort led by the Southern Pines Police Department: 

“Operation Leader was the mission name of a successful air attack conducted by the United States against German shipping vessels during World War II. Operation Leader damaged the German war effort by considerably disrupting the German convoy system.  Today, we have disrupted an extensive drug trafficking syndicate and convoy system in Southern Pines. Our extraordinary community is a better, safer place for all as a result of these arrests.

The following individuals have been arrested:

Lee Marvin Harris Junior, age 32, of Aberdeen and Charlotte, North Carolina has been arrested and charged with Trafficking Cocaine, Felony Maintaining a Dwelling for the Storage and Sale of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Heroin, Trafficking in Opium/Heroin, Manufacture/Sell/Deliver/Possess a Controlled Substance within 1000’ of a School and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.  Lee Marvin Harris Junior was taken before a Moore County Magistrate and has been incarcerated in the Moore County Detention Center under a $9,000,000.00 secured bond. Lee Marvin Harris Junior has a court appearance on March 13, 2018 in Moore County District Court.

Lee Marvin Harris Senior, age 58, of Aberdeen, North Carolina has been arrested and charged with Trafficking Cocaine, Felony Maintaining a Dwelling for the Storage and Sale of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession with the Intent to Sell/Deliver Cocaine. Lee Marvin Harris Senior was taken before a Moore County Magistrate and has been incarcerated in the Moore County Detention Center under a $5,000,000.00 secured bond. Lee Marvin Harris Senior has a court appearance on March 13, 2018 in Moore County District Court.

Lamar Orlando Sealy, age 33, of Southern Pines, North Carolina has been arrested and charged with Possession with the Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Heroin, Possession of Marijuana, Manufacture/Sell/Deliver/Possess a Controlled Substance within 1000’ of a School, Trafficking in Cocaine, Felony Maintaining a Dwelling for the Storage and Sale of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Lamar Orlando Sealy was taken before a Moore County Magistrate and has been incarcerated in the Moore County Detention Center under a $6,000,000.00 secured bond. Lamar Orlando Sealy has a court appearance on March 13, 2018 in Moore County District Court.

Lisa Ann Duncan Hanami, age 31, of Charlotte, North Carolina has been arrested and charged with Trafficking Cocaine and Felony Maintaining a Dwelling for the Storage and Sale of a Controlled Substance.  Lisa Ann Duncan Hanami was taken before a Moore County Magistrate and has been incarcerated in the Moore County Detention Center under a $75,000.00 secured bond. Lisa Ann Duncan Hanami has a court appearance on March 13, 2018 in Moore County District Court.

Christian Jovonn Terry, age 32, of Southern Pines, North Carolina has been arrested and charged with Trafficking Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Sell/Deliver Cocaine, Felony Maintaining a Dwelling for the Storage and Sale of a Controlled Substance, and Manufacture/Sell/Deliver/Possess a Controlled Substance within 1000’ of a School. Christian Jovonn Terry was taken before a Moore County Magistrate and has been incarcerated in the Moore County Detention Center under a $5,000,000.00 secured bond. Christian Jovonn Terry, has a court appearance on March 13, 2018 in Moore County District Court.

Shuanda Bridges Fox, age 49, of Sanford, North Carolina has been arrested and charged with Trafficking Cocaine by Possession, Trafficking Cocaine by Manufacturing, Trafficking Cocaine by Transportation, Felony Maintaining a Dwelling for the Storage and Sale of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Shuanda Bridges Fox was taken before a Lee County Magistrate and has been incarcerated in the Lee County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond. Shuanda Bridges Fox has a court appearance on March 19, 2018 in Lee County District Court.

Cervantes Gomez Gonzalo, age 27, of Misatlanta Mexico has been arrested and charged with Trafficking Cocaine, Trafficking Heroin, Trafficking Methamphetamines, Felony Maintaining a Dwelling for the Storage and Sale of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Stolen Firearm. Cervantes Gomez Gonzalo was taken before a Davie County Magistrate and has been incarcerated in the Davie County Detention Center under a $1,000,000.00 secured bond.

Calvin Deangelo Fox age 32, of 604 Charlotte Avenue, Sanford, is entered as a wanted felon by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office for the crimes of Trafficking Cocaine by Possession, Trafficking Cocaine by Manufacturing, Trafficking by Transportation, Felony Maintaining a Dwelling Place for the Storage and Sale of a Controlled Substances, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
