Sanford Woman Arrested During Traffic Stop for Heroin

On Monday December 17, 2018 at approximately 6:00 pm, Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics agents assisted the North Carolina Highway patrol with a vehicle stop on U.S. Highway 1, near the exit of Deep River Road. Agents located 1 gram of heroin on the operator Jamie Childress Stewart.

Jamie Childress Stewart, age 42 of 1301 Frank Wicker Road, Sanford, was arrested, transported, and processed by agents.

Stewart was charged with one count of felony possession of heroin, one count of felony maintaining a vehicle used for the illegal storage and use of a controlled substance, and one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Stewart was jailed under a $25,000.00 secured bond.
