Sanford Man Arrested During Traffic Stop With Drugs & Cash

Late Wednesday night, July 10 th , 2019, at approximately 9:45pm, Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics agents arrested Dalvin Davis, age 22, of 102 East Raleigh Street, Sanford.

Agents were in the process of conducting a traffic stop on Woodland Avenue near Spruce Street, when the passenger, Dalvin Davis exited the vehicle and fled from the scene. Agents pursued Davis on foot who was apprehended shortly thereafter. Agents located Davis approximately two blocks away from the scene attempting to hide in a row of bushes beside of a residence on Garden Street.

Agents located a small silver and yellow zip lock style cigar wrapper bag, containing three smaller clear plastic bags containing a white powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine, when preliminarily field tested. The three bags contained approximately 7 grams of cocaine, with a total estimated street value of $1400.00. Agents also seized $1208.00 in United States paper currency from Davis at the time of the arrest.

Davis was transported to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office for processing. Davis was processed and charged with one count of resisting a public officer by fleeing, after commanded to stop by a law enforcement officer, one count of possession with the intent to sell and deliver cocaine, one count of felony possession of a controlled substance within 1000 foot of a daycare facility, and one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Davis was jailed under a $40,000.00 secured bond.
