Two Arrested During Traffic Stop

Late Tuesday night, July 2, 2019, Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics agents arrested Kevin Christopher Pope, age 41, of Farmhouse Ct, Lillington, and Hannah Katherine Powell, age 27, of 1700 Carthage Street, Sanford.

Pope was stopped and cited for driving while license revoked. During the course of the investigation agents discovered that the passenger Hannah Powell was in possession of a tenth of a gram of heroin.

Agents transported both Pope and Powell to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office for processing. Pope was processed and charged with one count of felony maintaining a vehicle for the purpose of storing and using a controlled substance, and one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Powell was processed and charged with one count of felony possession of heroin and one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Pope was jailed under a $5,000.00 secured bond and Powell was released under a $5,000.00 unsecured bond.
