John Garner Road Man Arrested

10/2/2019 Steven Grant Carter (49) of 440 John Garner Rd. Sanford NC was arrested and charged with 3 counts of 2nd degree kidnapping, 3 counts of communicating threats and 3 counts of assault by pointing a gun; he was held under no bond. Deputies were called to 15 Red Tip Ln. around 6:00 PM of a man threatening to harm himself and holding several people there at gun point. Once deputies arrived on scene and engaged Carter he released everyone from the residence safely and then he surrendered himself to deputies. The victims held by Carter was his girlfriend and two of her family members of 15 Red Tip Ln.
