Deep River Man Charged with Attempted Murder

11/5/2019 @ 4:45 AM Tracey Edward McKay of 3230 Kendale Dr. Sanford reported he went to 670 Deep River Rd. in Sanford to pick up his girlfriend. McKay reported when he arrived he was met in the yard by the homeowner, Tommy Gene East Sr.

McKay reported East approached his vehicle and stated “its time for you to leave” and discharged a pistol into his vehicle. McKay reported he was not struck by the gun fire nor injured in this incident.

Tommy Gene East Sr. (66) of 670 Deep River Rd. Sanford NC was arrested at 12:00 at his residence and charged with attempted murder and discharging a firearm into a motor vehicle; he was held under no bond.
