Felon Arrested in Tramway


On Thursday June 9th, 2016 Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics agents arrested Derek Taylor age 38 of 3022 Byrd Avenue Sanford.
 



Taylor was caught by agents while in the process of a drug transaction in the parking lot of Hardee’s restaurant located at 2255 Old Jefferson Davis Highway. 

Taylor was found in possession of 5 Oxycodone, 33 Opana, 68 Alprazolam, 2 Oxycontin, 16 Methylphenidate pills, a .357 caliber Ruger revolver handgun, and $700.00 of United States currency.

Taylor had no valid prescription for the medication and a criminal history check revealed that Taylor is a convicted felon. 


Taylor was charged with 2 counts of trafficking Opium, 1 count of possession with the intent to sell and deliver a schedule IV controlled substance (Alprazolam), 1 count of possession with the intent to sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, 1 count of felony maintaining a vehicle for the sales and storage of illegal controlled substances, 1 count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and 1 count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.


Taylor was jailed under a $250,000.00 secured bond.
