Wednesday.... "hump day" for some, others it will be "check in day" at the Lee County jail. Lee County Sheriff's drug team seized thirty pounds of marijuana from 1301 S. Third St in Sanford Wednesday morning. The dope had been wrapped in blue cellophane and covered in spices to perhaps throw off drug dogs. Mission failed. Benito Espinoza Alvarez, 42, was charged and booked. Estimated street value was about $72 thousand dollars...The investigation continues and further arrests are possible.
