Drug Co-Defendants Convicted

Two Co-defendants facing drug charges in Lee County have been convicted this week in Lee County Superior Court. Adan Morales Jiminez, 22, of Charlotte, NC, and Apolinar Peneranda Lopez, 38, of Randleman, NC, were arrested on 10-22-2007 for trafficking Cocaine after members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division seized 1 Kilogram of Cocaine from the defendants. Jiminez pled guilty to level 2 Cocaine trafficking on 3-10-2009 and received an active sentence of 5 years 10 months minimum to 7 years maximum and a $100,000.00 fine. Lopez pled guilty on 3-11-2009 to level 2 Cocaine trafficking and also received a 5 year 10 month minimum to 7 year maximum active sentence and a $100,000.00 fine. Upon completion of their prison sentences, both subjects will be turned over to US Immigration authorities for deportation proceedings.
