Deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and members of the Broadway Police Department discovered a Marijuana plot off of Buckhorn Road near the Bradley Road intersection.
Deputies and officers have had the field under surveillance for nearly two months before moving to seize the field on 6-23-2009. At the same time, other agents executed a search warrant at the home of a suspect located at 148 Thomas Kelly Road. As a result of the investigation, agents seized 253 Marijuana plants with a potential street value of $607,200. In addition to the field located outside, a substantial amount of marijuana plants were also located in the home.
Tracy Neal Thomas ,45, of 148 Thomas Kelly Road, Sanford, was arrested and charged with Trafficking Marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver, maintaining a dwelling to keep/ store drugs and possession drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Lee County Jail under $75,000.00 secured bond.

** The suspect in this case was arrested on similar charges in 2007 and was convicted of Manufacturing Marijuana. He received a probationary sentence.**
