Two Lee County Men Arrested in String of Burglaries

Two Lee county men were arrested and charged in connection with a string of burglaries and larcenies around the county. Joseph Glenn Vanskiver (23) W/M of 230 Hidden Pond Ln. Sanford was charged with 8 counts of breaking and entering, 13 counts of felony larceny and 13 counts of felony possession of stolen goods; he was held under $40,000 secured bond. Charlie Lawrence Johnson Jr. (43) W/M of 718 Vernon St. Broadway was arrested for 4 counts of breaking and entering, 10 counts of felony larceny and possession of stolen goods; he was held under $20,000 secured bond. These break-ins and thefts go back as far as June 2010 and include the following areas in the county: John Rosser Rd, Poplar Springs Church Rd., Avents Ferry Rd., Center Church Rd., Nicholson Rd., Minter School Rd., Cemetery Rd., Pepper Mill Rd., Lower Moncure Rd, Zion Church RD., Farrell Rd and Hidden Pond MHP.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has also secured warrants on Thomas Allen Brumley (17) W/M of 108 Cloud Ct. Sanford for 2 counts of Breaking and Entering and 3 counts of felony larceny, possession of stolen goods and 1 count of misdemeanor larceny.
