This past Saturday, our staff conducted "Operation
Medicine Drop", which was part of a statewide initiative that encourages the public to safely dispose of unused and unwanted
medication. By providing safe and secure ways for people to get rid of
unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications, Operation
Medicine Drop helps prevent accidental poisonings and drug abuse while
protecting our waters.
The location selected this year was the Sanford Walmart. In spite of the weather, we still had a great turn out. We
were able to take in a total of 32.4 lbs. of medications.
