Internet Crime Complaint Center

Internet crime schemes that steal millions of dollars each year from victims continue to plague the Internet through various methods.  The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) is an agency that partners with the FBI and other law enforcement agencies to serve as a vehicle to receive, develop, and refer criminal complaints regarding the rapidly expanding arena of cyber crime. The IC3 gives the victims of cyber crime a convenient and easy-to-use reporting mechanism that alerts authorities of suspected criminal or civil violations. For law enforcement and regulatory agencies at the federal, state, local, and international level, the IC3 provides a central referral mechanism for complaints involving Internet related crimes.

Schemes such as door to door soliciting for gutter work, home and driveway improvements seem to still be the most popular here in Lee County.  If you are approached by someone and you feel that this is their direction, it's always best to simply ask for their business card and advise them that you'll get back with them.  If it's a "too good to be true price", then it probably is...Feel free to contact our criminal investigators to see if any local complaints have been filed against them as well.
