A joint operation and investigation by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and the Sanford Police Departments Tactical Narcotics Team has resulted in the seizure of a Methamphetamine Lab set up in a local motel room and the arrest of two suspects. Aaron Richard South, 31, and Jennifer Green Gouldthorp, 34, were both living in room 172 of the Palomino Motel on US #1 in Sanford.

The suspects had been under investigation and surveillance by drug agents from both the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and Sanford Police Department for several days.

On 1-14-2014, Lee County and Sanford drug agents executed a search warrant on the room and discovered the lab along with an unknown amount of processed Methamphetamine.

Additional charges are likely upon completion of SBI lab testing. Both suspects were placed in the Lee County Jail under $175,000.00 secured bond.
