Joint Operation Nets Fifteen Arrests and Much More

A year long investigation into a high level cocaine and crystal methamphetamine trafficking organization conducted by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, and assisted by the North Carolina State Bureau of investigations, United States DEA, United States Homeland Security and the Sanford Police Department, lead to the arrest of 15 individuals.

Of these individuals, seven were local Lee County residents and the remaining lived outside our county and/or were arrested outside of the state of North Carolina.

During the course of this investigation agents were able to seize approximately 9 3/4 kilos of powder form cocaine, one half a kilo of crack form cocaine, and 11 1/2  kilos of crystal form Methamphetamines.

The combined street values of the seized narcotics totals $3.4 million. Agents were also able to locate and seize nearly $450,000.00 in U.S. currency as well as numerous personal assets.  

Due to the nature of this investigation, names of the suspects arrested and details will be released at a later time.  Further arrests are also expected.
