Seven Month Old Found Unresponsive

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence of 1903 Meadowbrook Dr. Sanford this morning at approximately 6 AM to a report of an unresponsive child.

Willie Alfonzo Benson III (father) reported he found his 7 month old son unresponsive when he went in his room at 6AM.

The child was transported to CCH-ER where he was pronounced dead. 

This investigation is on-going and an autopsy will be performed by the NC Medical Examiner in Raleigh to determine cause of death.
