In memory of Jimmy, the infamous K9 dog that served both
the NC State Highway Patrol and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office was honored
today with a memorial stone in his name for his dedication and service to his
departments and respective communities.
Jimmy passed away in February of this year. Jimmy had served with his handler,Trooper
Mark Cole until he retired from the NCSHP and is now full time with the Lee
County Sheriff’s Office.
Jimmy served
his community since 2001 and had assisted in countless searches, apprehensions,
and recovered thousands of items such as drugs, paraphernalia and evidence.
On an average, most K9 dogs only serve for about 6 to 8
years, rarely any more than that. Jimmy was an exception to that rule.
Job Well Done Jimmy!
