On Wednesday March 2, 2016 Lee County Sheriff’s Office
Narcotics agents assisted by the North Carolina ALE agents, executed a search
warrant on the Jackpot Mini Mart located at 2305 lee Avenue, Sanford. Agents located and seized 32 grams of Marijuana, a stolen firearm and numerous items of illegal drug related paraphernalia. Owners Walter Xavier Benitez age 25 of 710 West Main Street, Sanford and Jose Aquilion Benitez age 30 also of 710 West Main Street, Sanford were charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver Marijuana, felony maintaining a business that was used to store and sell illegal controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a stolen firearm.
Both Jose and Walter Benitez
were also charged by the NC Alcohol Law Enforcement for numerous alcohol
violations. Both Jose and Walter were jailed under a $5,000.00.
