Joint Operation Scores Big Bust


On Friday May 11th, 2017, Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics agents, accompanied by investigators from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations, the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office, and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), arrested Jose Pastor Lopez, age 43, of 437 Courtland Drive, and Jose Bustamante Guevara, age 36, of 409 Birch Street, Sanford, NC.

Jose Pastor Lopez was charged with 3 counts of Conspiracy to Traffic Cocaine on three previous and separate occasions. 
Jose Pastor Lopez was held under a $200,000.00 secured bond.

Jose Bustamante Guevara was charged with 8 counts of Trafficking Cocaine, 3 counts of felony, Maintaining a Dwelling Place for the Storage and Sale of an Illegal Controlled Substance, and 4 counts of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.  Jose Bustamante Guevara was also charged with 1 count felony, Possession of Cocaine, when agents discovered approximately 1 gram of powder form Cocaine in Guevara’s possession at the time of arrest. Jose Bustamante Guevara was held under a $400,000.00 secured bond.

Throughout the course of the investigation agents seized approximately 64 ½ grams of Cocaine.  

The Department of Homeland Security was able to determine that both Lopez and Guevara were in the United States illegally and have placed immigration detainers on both individuals.
