LCSO Youth Academy 2017

Last week we held our annual Lee County Sheriff's Office Youth Academy.  Every division within the Sheriff's Office participated in presentations, demonstrations and hands on activities with the students.

Students investigated mock crime scenes, learned about the dangers of drugs, saw one of our newest deputies get Tased, toured the jail and Sheriff's Office, spoke with a judge, toured the NC State Highway Patrol Training academy, visited the NC Museum of Natural Sciences, played several games of dodge ball with the deputies, learned about the roles of those in the fire service and forest service, and wrapped the week up with a cookout at the Lee County Wildlife Club!

I would like to thank the following for their participation and support:

-Bishop Charles Mellette and Christian Provision Ministries
-Dr Andy Bryan and the staff of Southern Lee High School
-Sanford Fire Department
-NC Forest Service
-Core-Mark and Randy Seagroves
-Lee County Emergency Services
-Sergeant Joe Bright and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol Training Academy staff
-First Sergeant Charles Genaudau and Troop D Troopers
-Lee County Wildlife Club
-Lee County Chapter of the NAACP
I would also like to thank all of my staff for their hard work this week and last but certainly not least, all of the parents that allowed your kids to participate!
